Background:

Based in Turkey, Ramazan Yuksel is a young composer with experience in scoring movies, TV shows, video games and documentaries. Yuksel specializes in big Hollywood-styled dramatic cues that blend Orchestral and Electronic elements, and he frequently employs ethnic instrumentation to conjure up sounds from the Middle East, Asia and beyond.

–Primary instrument?

Choir as instrument.

–Favorite music-making piece of gear or software you currently use?

Fl Studio 11 as software.

–Piece of gear or software you wish you owned?

I already own it–  Fl Studio 11.

–Film score or song you admire? Why?

I like a lot of different soundtracks. I can’t imagine anything better than this category of music.

–Music education background?

I don’t have a formal music education. That’s why believe I am so unique.

–Memorable “Aha!” moment during your musical education?

The moment that I realized that the reverb makes everything better.

–Most embarrassing music-related moment?

This is probably so common, but it was the moment when I discovered some technical mistakes after I uploaded a song and everyone already had listened to it.

–If you had a time machine and could record or perform once with any artist, who would it be?

Ralph Vaughan Williams.

–Moment you first knew you would be a musician?

After a few times trying to make music on my Fl Studio.

–Advice you would give to a younger family member interested in a music career?

Don’t tell anyone that you are becoming a musician!

–Five songs or albums you’d take with you to a desert island?

I’d take one– Ralph Vaughan Williams, “Fantasia.”

–If you could master another instrument, what would it be?

Female voice.

–Favorite time of day to work in your studio?

The time when everyone is sleeping.
